EMBASSY OF INDIA SURINAME

The Government of India has decided to launch the scheme for Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) with effect from 14 November 2005. The eligibility criteria and the application form are available at: www.mha.nic.in/oci/oci-main.htm

Forms duly completed, along with a fee of US$ 275/- per application can be submitted to this embassy for being forwarded to the concerned authorities in India for granting of the OCI Registration Card. Those who are already holding PIO Cards can apply on payment of a fee of US$ 25/-.


The OCI Registration fee is normally required to be deposited in cash at the Embassy counter. In the case of applications being sent by courier service ( prepaid for return pick up) the demand draft for US$ 280 ( to cover bank charges) should be drawn in the name of Embassy of India Suriname.

NOTE: While travelling to India the OCI card holder must be in possesion of his valid passport bearing visa sticker besides the OCI card.


This is to bring to the notice of the public that Government of India has introduced additional consular fee of US$ 3.00 for each passport/visa/OCI/PIO/Attestation/Misc. Consular Services application as contribution towards Indian Community Welfare Fund. The charges are effective from May 14,2010.

      Applicants are advised to add US$ 3.00 to the cheques /drafts for fee drawn in favour of Embassy of India, Paramaribo.
